Walking Injury
I have difficulty walking. Could it be a running related injury? How do I fix it?
I have been running 1.5 miles ever other day on the sidewalk of hilly terrain for several weeks now. Recently, I started feeling some discomfort on my left leg and the left side of my hip. There seems to be no pain but my left knee joint isn't able to flex properly causing me to limp. The condition is really debilitating and embarrassing but the thing is, I don't think its that serious because my weekly mileage (about 7 mi) is really low. How can I fix this?
you may have a leg compensation issue. Do you know if one leg is longer than the other? I know that sounds like a silly question, but i had the same problem, when i was younger i always had a leg that was slightly longer than the other. So growing up it was painful when i would run for a long period of time because it would causemy whole leg to go out of wack, and my hip always hurt- what i ended up doing was going to see a specialist and they recommended an insert that i can just put into my shoe for when i ran, and it felt better! you may want to see about getting some sort of insert if you have leg compensation problems or flat feet.. etc. Some P.T. wouldnt hurt either, to get rid of the discomfort and they try to put you back in alignment. good luck!
