Does low intensity sports burn more calories than high intensity sports?

I just heard from a book saying low intensity sports eg. walking burns more than running, simply because walking uses energy from fat whilst running uses energy from carbohydrates. Is this true??

Or should I just run for an hour??

Yes it's true...BUT. The thing is you burn more fat with low intensity training then with high intensity training but you burn faster with high intensity training then low intensity training. So let me give you an example...the numbers are not right, I am just trying to get my point across.
Let's say you walk 1 hour, you will burn 100% fat but only 1g/hr. Now if you run you will maybe just burn 50% fat but you burn 4g/hr. So you will burn about the same with walking for 1hr or Running for 30min. Now the other thing is also what is your goal with this, are u trying to loose fat no matter what or do you want to loose fat but keep the muscle etc.
