am i doing something wrong when i lift?

ive been doing bicep curls and tricep extentions every other day since early june. i use a 20 pound dumbbell to do both. i started off doing 3 sets of 10 reps. now im up to 6 sets of 10 reps. for tricep extensions i do 2 sets of 10 reps. the thing is i cant see a difference unless i flex. when i flex my arms look really ripped and feel rock solid. but as soon as i stop flexing my arms have no definition and are much less hard. and i do ear protein bars and drink muscle milk after i work out. so will it take longer for what im looking for to show or what?

You're doing the wrong type of sets. Doing a great number of 10 or more will not add much size at all. What you need to do is reduce the reps and sets to 4 sets of 6 (at most) and do use a heavier weight than 20lb. What you're doing at the moment is adding strength but not size!

Drop the sets and reps and increase the weights, and you'll see a change in mass.
