Pull Sit

Does doing push-ups/ pull-ups/ sit-ups do the same as weights and machines?

For building muscle is it just as effective to do exercises like push-ups as doing things like curls and benching? just to get stronger, and machines aren't that available.

the exercises you outlined will not pack on size unless you already are really really skinny.
they will make you very fit and very healthy but they will not pack on mass.
in order to gain size, the body needs to be trained with the load and stress that comes from heavy weights.
