Is jumping rope more effective to gain fitness cardiovascular and Weight Loss than running?

I heard from a friend that Skipping Rope is more effective than running? Can anyone tell me if it is, and how long I should do it every night to be in better shape and lose weight?

Jump roping is Yes. If you workout everyday accumulate about 15 minutes of that time spent at the mill jump. You will see a much stronger and Definiton and you will lose weight.
