Flat Bench
Does the flat Bench Press(Dumbbell Press) work the whole chest?
Or do you need to do inclines for upper and declines for lower?
I think I messed up my chest by only doing flyes and flat presses.
The flat bench emphasizes three muscles as its primary movers: pectoralis major, triceps, deltoids. As you increase or decrease the incline of the movement, the emphasis shifts to the upper or lower pecs respectively. These are accessory muscles in a sense, but still important to develop if you are a bodybuilder. For athletic competition, it is not necessary to isolate these muscles with few exceptions: shot or discuss throwers benefit from upper pec development, as do football linemen. The angle of their primary exertion is most replicated through incline presses or dumbell flys. Hope that helps.
