Is there a maximum time a work place can ask you to return for after maternity to be able to keep your pay?
UK: My workplace will pay extra on top of maternity allowance but have advised that if I leave the company within 12 months after maternity is over.. I will have to pay the money back?
I know they can't make me pay back SMP but can they request a minimum of 12 more months service?

If you are accepting more than you are entitled to then surely you have agreed to stay in their employment for a set time after maternity leave. Where I work our employer will pay for us to go to collage and get more qualifications but we have to stay in the job for 2 years after or pay back all fees. No one is going to give you extra and you not pay it back some how.
