How do I clean my black-spotted non-slip shower mat?
I have one of those plastic non-slip shower mats suction cupped to the bottom of my bathtub....its the 3rd one i've bought and like the others its starting to get dingy and off white and dirty and black spots are starting to form all over it...I assume the black spots are scarring caused by the discharges of whatever bacteria is thriving in all that heat and water.....How do I clean it (I don't think I can, I've tried), How do I keep it from happening? or is there a higher quality product I can buy where it doesn't happen
You can clean the moldy shower mat by putting it in the bathtub overnight with water and bleach. Then in the morning you can just rinse it off and use it. Another way of cleaning it, put it in the washing machine with hot water and bleach and you can let it soak for a few hours then run the washer through the cycle. Another thing you can try is Tilex for mold. You can check your shower mat for mold and when you see it spray with Tilex, let sit for about one hour and rinse it. I have tried all three of the suggestions that I have given to you and all three have worked for me. I hope my answer helps.
