Grip Positions
what is the difference between the traditional forehand and the modern forehand?
I need the grips, stances, positions, almost every little detail please!
the most traditional grip is the eastern grip in which if the grip was a clock with the logo facing upwards, you top knuckle would be at the 12 o clock position... the traditional forehand has a closed stance and you hit the ball flatter and straight on the ball rather than over it... you take a shorter backswing, make straight contact and follow through using your right shoulder and follow through over the left shoulder... on the modern forehand your knuckle would be either at two or three o clock and you hit the ball with your stance more open and you hit over and though the ball rather than straight on and you would put more weight on your right leg (assuming you're righty) and really rotate through it and close over the shot with your bicep and end the swing under your shoulder or around your waist... the traditional is more compact and the modern is longer and more explosive mainly with the legs
