Help with dumbbell curls?

When performing the dumbbell curls sitting down am I suppose to keep my back straight bent or bent? Also am I suppose to rest the hand holding the dumbbell on my leg or could that counter the effect?
Does this have less effect that when doing dumbbell curls standing up?

lol dude its called concentration curls.. yes your supposed to rest your elbow on your leg. this way you rest your joint in your elbow and use your bicep to curl the weight up..just look it up and youll see the form. hope I helped
