How to make a blue light for plants?
I already have what I believe is a plant light which actually looks like a flood light with a blue tint covering the bulb. I have been using it for weeks and things (mostly tomatos) seem to be growing fine with this lamp being the only light source. My question is whether I can make another plant light by taking a different lamp and shining it through blue cellophane or other blue transparent medium?
Yes that can work. My mother had a terrarium and the plants didn't grow. I painted transparent colors - red, green, yellow, blue in a nice design on the outside of the glass. The plants started thriving. She kept it in the same location so the paint was the only thing that changed.
You could use a picture frame and put the cellophane on the glass to shine the light through. Just don't put the flood light too close or the cellophane could scorch and or burn.
