Biggest Loser
How do you design a legitimate "biggest loser" office pool?
We would like to do a "biggest loser" type of competition here at work, yet we are different sizes and not obese. So you can't just use percentage weight lost or percentage body fat lost because of the way the human body loses fat at various body fat levels. Any one have a well thought out way to measure progress considering these issues?
It's great that you put so much thought into this. The "prize" of "biggest loser" I assume is a motivational tool to not only help the winner lose weight but to motivate all participants.
Since none of the participants is obese, there shouldn't be a drastic difference as with an obese person competing against someone only slightly overweight.
There doesn't seem to be a totally fair way of determining the winner. The percentage weight loss difference appears to be your best bet. If there is a clear cut winner, there shouldn't be a problem. If there is some controversy, perhaps you should have an honorable mention trophy on the side just in case.
